NOFX's "Franco Un-American"
I never thought about the universe, it made me feel small
Never thought about the problems of this planet at all
Global warming, radio-active sites
Imperialistic wrongs and animal rights! No!
Why think of all the bad things when life is so good?
Why help with an 'am' when there's always a 'could'?
Let the whales worry about the poisons in the sea
Outside of California, it's foreign policy
I don't want changes, I have no reactions
Your dilemmas are my distractions
That's no way to go, Franco Un-American
No way to go, Franco Un-American
No way to go, Franco Un-American
No way to go, Franco, Franco Un-American
I never looked around, never second-guessed
Then I read some Howard Zinn now I'm always depressed
And now I can't sleep from years of apathy
All because I read a little Noam Chomsky
I'm eating vegetation, 'cause of Fast Food Nation
I'm wearing uncomfortable shoes 'cause of globalization
I'm watching Michael Moore expose the awful truth
I'm listening to Public Enemy and Reagan Youth
I see no world peace 'cause of zealous armed forces
I eat no breath-mints 'cause they're from de-hoofed horses
Now I can't believe; what an absolute failure
The president's laughing 'cause we voted for Nader
That's no way to go, Franco Un-American
No way to go, Franco Un-American
No way to go, Franco Un-American
Where can we go, Franco Un-American
I want to move north and be a Canadian
Or hang down low with the nice Australians
I don't want to be another "I-don't-care"-ican
What are we gonna do Franco, Franco Un-American

i'm watching 'clean house' it's amazing how much filth people can deal with living in. i mean my room is not clean at all but it's nothing compared to some of the homes that grown adults live in.
It also surprises me how attatched people are to thier junk, they cry and say that the clean house people are killing them. There's so much crap that people need to hang on to for some reason.
strange that some people hang on to stuff like other people hang on to lies or guilt or control or something like that...

I'm making the one that the model is wearing. Only mine is going to be straight green.
I really want to get good at sewing now because the dress is only going to cost me like $10.00. It would be way more than that in a store and it wouldn't be fitted for me :)

Split EP Release Show
Jenna and I went to the Gazillioin+Sonicade+Capitol Jay EP release concert last night at the Ritz. It was really good, we missed Capitol Jay and the beginning of Sonicade's set but it was okay. I really do love Capitol Jay but Jenna was not in a hurry :)
I got a sweet deal: Gazillion T-shirt, the EP, a poster, and a Best Kept Secret sticker for ten dollars. Marshall (Bass) was standing by the table when I bought them. I said "Marshall I feel bad, it's such a good deal" he said "yeah, it's a steal." "you see," I said," It's like I'm robbing you." and the guy behind the table said "yeah, at cash point..."
After the concert Jenna and I talked to the band because we both love all of those guys. Too bad Mike (Used to be Drummer) isn't there anymore, come to think of it. If anyone knows a good drummer that wants to be in a band, and not like a garage band, they're pretty big, you should have them go to a gazillion concert and talk to the guys. They're still looking for someone.
Brandy was reminiscing this morning as she looked at the new poster in my wall. She said it's funny that that used to be her and Paul and now I'm the one going out to see my friend's band.
I love Gazillion and Capitol Jay and Sonicade!

Occupado
getting a job as a teenager is quite possibly the easiest thing i have ever done in my life. I mean, really, I actually wrote "I love to serve with a smile! :)" on the application.
will the slightest traces of competence get me all the way through life?

Insomnia
I don't really sleep well. I've never really slept well especially when i have a lot of junk to think about. That's why I'm posting right now, I can't sleep. And if you've been following closely, dear reader you will find that i was up at around three in the am yesterday too.
Today i woke up at two and i'm still up, I just kind of lay in the dark and hope that sleep will come to me, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Today i decided to call Mike, i mean if he can call me at three i can call him at four right? Yeah, he was already awake and walking around with one of his friends. What is wrong with everyone. Is this just something that everyone does and we all just don't know it but everyone is awake in the wee hours of the morning and we lie awake alone when really we could be doing something.
I should start doing laundry but i'm a pretty clumsy person and i'm sure i'll make a lot of noise and wake B&P up. Unless they're already awake...
I just know i can't be the only one up right now...

The Itsy Bitsy Spider and Other Unwelcome Friends.
Unwelcome friend incedence #1: There is a small crawling biting unwelcome little friend living in my room. I think that he or she hitched a ride on the furniture that i brought up from the basement to redecorate my room with. I have little bites everywhere, on my hands, my back, my arms, my neck, even on my fingers and toes. The recent spider incidences coupled with the fact that yesterday Brandy and I caught whiffs of cat pee coming from somewhere in, on, or around the couch area has blown up into a house deep cleaning extravaganza! I'm happy, my whole room is being stripped and cleaned YAY!
Unwelcome friend incedence #2: 2:54 am Monday, October 08. My phone rings and for some reason I am already awake, i answer:
Mike: hey
Hannah: hello mike
Mike: did i wake you up?
Hannah: no...
Mike: you should come over
Hannah: no...
Mike: why not!?
Hannah: because it's... 2:56 in the morning
Mike: Hannaaaah! come ooooonnnn!
Hannah: no...
Mike: why not!?
Hannah: no mike...
Mike: you should come over though.
Hannah: no...
I'm sure you get the idea. This conversation went on for about 10 minutes before he conceded and i said that i'd come over if he called me at a time when normal people were up.
he called me at 10:00 this morning.
*sigh* i love my friends, i love my friends, i love my friends...

chllin'
hey, so i'm ready to go home now...
Katkins and i went to NYC on monday. seeing katkins was sweet but the city was uneventful, katkins kept pretending that she knew where she was and she really didn't so we spent the whole time trying to "find her bearings." we did get to eat in little italy though and that was fun. i love letting the restaurant hosts fight over me, it's hilarious.
yesterday i sat on the couch, ate the rest of my leftover sushi and watched south park. i just can't do two days in a row around crowds of people i don't know. i talked to mom and brandy, they both sound fine and they both insisted that i come home (and mom insisted i blog more). don't worry, i will, people out here are rude, i don't think they mean to be but they are. maybe it's just because i'm so used to midwest nice people but i think that when you talk to someone you need to look at them and people should not give other people dirty looks for saying 'good morning' to them. but maybe that's just me...
the dogs are doing good, they were home all day when i went to go see fats and they were very good. Bazzle is sick, he has bumps all over his head and his legs. it's a reaction because he's allergic to everything like cats and... life. he's okay though and i actually got the mexican lady at kaui and alex's resort to understand me (after much frustration and forceful speech) and got a message through to them. though by the time i got their message machine the message i left was very testy sounding. (it ended with, "i don't even know if this is you because i don't... speak... spanish... augh." *click*)
so there you go, (mom) the last two days in a nutshell for you. i'm going to roy and carol's tomorrow night for dinner and i'm glad because they're really nice and i didn't get to see them last week. i blogged mom, just for you :)

VACATION
I've been at Alex's house for a couple of days now and i'm having a really good time. Katkins and i called each other and we'll probably get together this weekend or next week, she's not sure what her class schedule looks like yet. I went with Kaui to see Alex play at an open mic, it was really fun and they played well.
i'm glad to have a break these two weeks, i love sos but all of that drama drama drama gets tough. it's really good to see Alex too, we don't see each other much and that sucks but it makes it better when we do get to see each other.
Bran i miss you and Paul and the dogs! i miss mom and dad and bugga! I love you all :)

takin' some time off
i'm leaving for Alex's house on the 2nd. i'm really excited, i get to stay out there for two whole weeks. one of those weeks will be spent with Alex and Kaui, i'll probably hang out with Katkins, who is just starting school at Sarah Lawrence, the other week will just be me and the dogs, Maggie and Bazzle. i'm psyched to see everyone but it's also going to be really nice to just be alone and do whatever i want for a week. i've been working so much that i'm definitely in need of a break from all of the drama (pun intended) that comes with all of those teenagers in the same place for so long...

The goings-on
the SOS Gala went very well and thanks to all who came to see the show. It was Taylor's first show and he did extremely well. Usually newbies don't get to do any shows until late September so yay for Taylor! Everyone in the show had a lot of fun. We got to debut Jenna's new skit on Diversity and one of the skits that Bernstrom has recently written on Date Rape.
Right now since the Gala is done we are starting to put the new kids into full out runs of the show, we should have been doing this for a week so we're a little behind but i'm sure that our new kids can do it. The staff is also starting to rewrite our Choices show, which is the show we do for upper elementary, it's a big task and a lot of work but i'm excited to see the finished product.
Koutabi is still in it's beginning stages, i sold a couple of coupons at the silent auction and i'm trying to schedule a ribbon cutting with the Chamber of Commerce downtown. I'm not doing much with it until school starts because i'm a little overwhelmed right now. I've taken to doing nothing on the weekends and enjoying it becuase i'm so busy all week.
Please keep praying for Sue, two more people were found on Thursday and her nephew is still missing. His name is Scott, he is one of only two people missing right now and Sue and her family are still having a really tough time with the whole thing. Thank God for the divers who are risking their lives every day going down and searching blind in the water with pieces of the rubble from the bridge falling on their heads. They are doing fantastic work and Sue is so thankful for them.
Here's an excerp from one of Sue's e-mails:
That's all that i can really think of right now. School's starting soon so i'll have more time to relax and do things that i want to do, wich will be extremely nice indeed.

I thank you all for the kind words of support, e-mails and notes as we wait for the news on my nephew. We know that the divers are working very hard in some very dangerous conditions but the waiting is very difficult. We pray that they find him and at the same time we pray that they don't. Each day is more difficult for his family. Those in charge seem a little better in getting news to the families.Sue S. Oberg

the bridge
I would like everyone out there to pray for my boss Sue. Her nephew was on the 35E bridge when it collapsed and he still hasn't been found, even his car hasn't been found. Sue and her family are havnig a hard time greiving right now because they can't have a funeral or any kind of closure.
Sometimes I can't see where God is. In times like this when this young man has been married for less than a year and he had such a good life ahead of him. I have a friend with an abusive husband and four children and she just puts up with it because she loves God and she has to keep her life together.
where is he?

300
i just bought 300. it's so good, i never saw it in theaters but i wish i would have. it's very well done, the cinematography is amazing. i was suprised by the symbolism in the movie though. all of the men in sparta are examined at birth and if they have any defects or are weak they are instantly killed. everything evil and amoral in this movie is physycally deformed. it was fascinating. if you can stomach the violence i strongly suggest the movie based on it's artistic value, the book and the movie are strikingly simaler, zach snyder did a really good job of keeping most of the book's dialogue and visual aspects. good flick.

Music Music EVERYWHERE!!
SOS is revamping our music. we are redoing every song in the show as well as all of the songs that we play before shows. i was so happy to have my input in a few of the songs that got into the show music. they include (fyi all of these are phenomenal and you should look them up...)
"Don't Take My Baby to War" -Roma di Luna
"We're Gonna Make It" -DeVotchKa
"Lay Down Your Weapons" -Scissors for Lefty
"Bullets" "David" -Gazillion
"Mad World" -Gary Jules
i also was the one to suggest "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister, "Oh Yeah" by Yello, and "Love is a Battlefeild" by Pat Bennetar. All three will be used in the show. It was so much fun choosing songs for after comedic skits! :) My pre-show suggestions are also awesome. they include Dropkick Murphys and Amy Weinhouse. hehe it's so fun!

The Grudge
The move to Brandy's house is going well. I have yet to get some of my smaller stuff and my books over here but it'll happen. I keep feeling bad about leaving the fam and home and stuff but i have to move out sometime. I know that mom was having a hard time with it for a while and i'm sorry but it'll all work out eventually. love you mommers :)
The other night i watched the grudge, friggen terrifying movie... one of the images in that movie if you haven't seen it is black hair floating like it's underwater. I walked into my bathroom the morning after i watched the movie and brandy had moved this candle holder thing that has branches that look like floating hair in the dark. i screamed a little in my head. i have a semi-unhealthy love/hate relationship with really good horror flicks.
